I joined Carter Williamson in February 2018 whilst completing a Diploma of Advertising and Media at Macleay College, Sydney. I have a deep interest in industrial design and 20th century architecture, particularly modernism and brutalism.
Bringing my passion and knowledge of architecture and design, I’m able to combine this with my marketing, writing, advertising and PR skills to oversee Carter Williamson’s marketing, blog, advertising, social media, publications, written content, video production and media.
Managing Carter Williamson’s social media channels through my time at the firm, I’ve overhauled and improved our Instagram strategy, boosting engagement rates and growing community involvement, resulting in over 28,100 followers as of October 2019.
A core aspect of Carter Williamson’s media presence is written content, telling the story of our projects. Part of my role at Carter Williamson is writing project descriptions for our website, social media, and award submissions.
Part of my role at Carter Williamson is entering our projects in awards. This requires the production of a written description and choice of photography to give our projects the best chance at winning. Whilst with Carter Williamson I have produced a lineage of award submissions, winning awards from the Australian Institute of Architects, NSW Architecture Awards, The Design Files, The Sustainability Awards, INDE Awards, Houses Awards, Dulux Colour Awards, Urban Developers Awards and many more. See the full list here.
Part of strengthening Carter Williamson’s social media strategy, alongside showcasing our projects, in 2019 Carter Williamson expanded into video content, commissioning short films showcasing our completed architectural projects. Working alongside production company Yabby Films, I directed, wrote and assisted in producing these videos for Carter Williamson.
One of my tasks at Carter Williamson is to pitch our projects to architecture and design media, both digital and print. This involves liaising with media outlets, writing content for them to mould into articles and producing press packs. I have had Carter Williamson projects featured in Australia’s most influential design & property magazines and the world’s largest online design blogs including Belle Property, The Daily Telegraph, House & Garden, Domain, HOUSES Magazine, The Design Files, Dwell, DesignBoom, Habitus Living and Dezeen.
Save Our Sirius
On the 6th of July, 2018, Sirius Apartments won the NSW Australian Institute of Architects Enduring Architecture Award. Joining the likes of previous winners, the Sydney Opera House, the Readers Digest Building, UTS Kuring-Gai and a swathe of Seidler's.
I worked extensively creating Sirius' winning proposal for the Australian Institute of Architects alongside my colleagues. I also created multiple photographs used throughout the proposal and award ceremony, including the cover photograph.
